Evosus Web Access - Requests Not Successful

Step by Step:
Are you just getting started in Evosus Web Access and your requests aren't successful? Go through the following steps to identify the problem.

Step 1: Verify that the Evosus WebAPI service is running

The Evosus WebAPI service must be running on the Evosus Service Host.

A. Figure out what machine is the Evosus Service Host.

  • Log into Evosus Legacy Software.

  • Go to Administration > System > Evosus Defaults > System Parameters. This opens the System Parameters screen.

  • Open the System tab and look in the Evosus Service Host field. This is the machine where the Evosus WebAPI must be running.

B. Verify Evosus WebAPI is running on the Evosus Service Host.

  • Log into the Evosus Service Host.

  • Open the Task Manager.

  • Open the Service tab

  • Verify the Evosus WebAPI is running. If it's running but your requests are getting a status 500 error, restart the Evosus WebAPI service and try again.

Step 2: Verify that you're using the right CompanySN

Every request must include your company serial number, and a ticket number (your API key). Your CompanySN is listed on the WebAPI Dashboard.

A. Log into Evosus Legacy Software.

B. Go to Administration > Web API > Web API Dashboard.

C. The Company Serial field displays the CompanySN that you need to include in every request.

  • You can use the Web API Dashboard to test and configure Evosus API Access.

Step 3: Verify that you're using the right ticket number

Every request must include your company serial number, and a ticket number (your API key). To test if the ticket number is the problem, just substitute your ticket number with the demo ticket number below. If your request is successful when using the demo ticket number, then you're using the wrong ticket number. Contact your Account Manager to get the correct ticket number (API key).

Step 4: Verify that you can get to cloud3.evosus.com/api

The test below verifies that cloud3.evosus.com is available to accept requests, and it is accessible from the Evosus Service Host.

A. Log into the Evosus Service Host (this is the machine where the Evosus WebAPI service is running). Refer to Step 1a above for instructions on how to identify your Evosus Service Host machine.

B. Open a browser and verify that you can go to http://cloud3.evosus.com/api/.

Step 5: Verify that you're using a supported version of Evosus Legacy Software

You need to be on Evosus version 6.4.71 or above. If you're using a lower version of Evosus, the API requests won't make it through your software firewall. You will see the following error on the Event Viewer of the machine running the
